The whole topic about sense perception has been interesting, and I think it is the section on the mental instant replay and the inattentional blindness that interests me the most. With the mental instant replay, its interesting how your brain is able to replay things that you have seen or things that you think you have seen. It’s amazing how people can look at the same thing but when asked to describe what they have seen there will be a vast range of responses. I don’t think the problem is when we see the thing/action but perhaps when our brain is storing the information or trying to process/reprocess it. This just amazes me completely. With the inattentional blindness, again I don’t think the problem is in what we see but the way our brains process the information. For example, I think that sometimes I have inattentional deafness, like sometimes when my brother or my sisters are calling my name I can hear them but I just don’t respond because I guess my brain blocks it out or I choose to block it out, but subconsciously of course :). These things are very, very strange…
